What is By My Grace all about?
By My Grace (BMG) is a portal into the world of color and grace. It is an escape from reality, a place where life isn’t so serious, where we can take off our shoes and dance.
Where does the name By My Grace come from?
Grace is my mother, it is also my middle name, but most importantly grace is our way of life. If you do anything with grace it will always be more fluid and beautiful.
What are your tips for first-time tie dyers?
Try fresh color combinations, don’t take it too seriously and have fun!
What do you recommend tie dying? Or not tie dying?
We recommend natural fibers such as cotton and silk that absorb the dye well.
How did you get into tie dye?
I started tie-dying as a kid. My mother, the original Grace, who is also my business partner, was a flower child in the 60’s. She always encouraged us to be creative and colorful.
How do tie dye and fashion intersect in your life?
I’ve been working in the fashion industry in NY for 12 years. I love mixing high fashion with unique accessories. Tie dye makes me feel like an artist and a chemist at the same time. Each piece is one of a kind and each color mixes a new combination. We hand dye everything with love! BMG is about bringing a more personal experience into your wardrobe. We work with each client to ensure they receive pieces that will match their personality and taste.

Best tie dye color combo?
Green and pink is a favorite right now! Shout out Sweet Reason! We really love mixing our own colors and playing with unpredictable combinations.
Song on repeat right now?
Too many to choose but “Lovely Day” is on repeat. RIP Bill Withers. BMG absolutely LOVES music: it is the root of our inspiration. We attend a lot of shows and festivals because live music makes us feel free. The only rule in tie dye is to zone out and turn up the tunes!
Favorite fashion brand?
Vintage is in my soul, Gucci is life, but lately I am obsessed with Ulla Johnson, Dries Van Noten, Alaia, Undercover and Ganni.
