Interview with Rachelle Hruska MacPherson

Interview with Rachelle Hruska MacPherson

This month, we talked to Founder & CEO of Lingua Franca and Guest of a Guest, Rachelle Hruska MacPherson, about how she found mindfulness through embroidery and how CBD helps ease her anxiety.

What does a typical day in your life look like?

Wake up and get my kids out the door with my husband Sean. He’s on morning duties! Then I walk our puppy Harry and get right to work on my coffee and emails. Once I’ve taken a stab at my inbox, I workout – either Tracy Anderson (home video), yoga or a run. Then I head work down the street. Every day is different and quite chaotic. There is never enough time in the day! Right now we are about to open our second store on Madison Avenue, so I may have to head up there, or to any number of meetings. On the good days, I’ll get to sneak away to pick up my kids from school and get them situated at their after school activities and then head back to work. It’s such a nice mid day break. Dinner is at home at 6pm every night. It’s super important to us to try to eat as a family every night, sometimes we just sit with the kids if we have a later dinner. I do bed time around 7:30 (we are on book 5 of Harry Potter) and then I’m either in bed reading or watching something with Sean, or out. Either way I prefer to have lights out by 11pm.

Mindful Tip:

Meditation (I try to do even just 5-10 min in the mornings), yoga, running, walking and reading all help me stay balanced. And embroidery!! I started stitching because it was a great way to take my mind off of my anxiety.

CBD Queen or CBD Newbie?

Somewhere in the middle.

Why’d you start using CBD?

To help me sleep and calm my anxiety (esp when flying).

Any noticeable effects of incorporating CBD into your lifestyle?

I definitely sleep better when I take CBD at night.

Social Stigma or Socially Acceptable?

Completely embraced and openly discussed.

What are some of your hobbies?

I love to read, play the piano, and have dance parties with my sons. I am also really into playing cards. It’s gotten so much fun because now my kids are old enough to truly play card games!

What is your wellness routine like?

Workouts are a mixture of Tracy Anderson, yoga, running and pilates. And I love walking! I try to eat healthy and consistently but am not a fanatic about a wellness routine.
