Fact/
Fiction

This page is a collection of frequently asked questions we get at Sweet Reason about cannabidiol, aka CBD. We hope this helps clarify what’s fact and what’s very much fiction.

  • What is CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of over 100 known phytocannabinoids, which are plant compounds. Phytocannabinoids work by acting on the body’s own endogenous (aka internal) cannabinoid system, called the endocannabinoid system. The endocannabinoid system includes a network of cannabinoid receptors in cells throughout our body. This network responds to both cannabinoids that our body naturally produces and phytocannabinoids that we consume.
  • Will CBD get me high?
No. CBD is non-psychoactive which means it doesn’t result in a ‘high’.
  • What's the difference between CBD and THC?
Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and CBD are two of over 100 known cannabinoids. THC is a cannabinoid that is psychoactive (i.e. it gets you ‘high’), whereas CBD is non-psychoactive (i.e. it does not get you ‘high’) and is known for its health benefits.
  • What are the health benefits of CBD?
CBD is used for a wide range of health and wellness reasons. We love to use CBD to help calm our minds, reduce occasional stress, and ease discomfort as part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
  • Why 7mg of CBD per bottle?
We use 7mg of CBD because it is a good dosage for our high-bioavailability pure CBD. For us, 7mg is just right – high enough to contribute to a healthy, balanced lifestyle, but low enough that one can enjoy multiple Sweet Reasons every day.
  • Where does CBD come from?
CBD can be extracted from cannabis or from industrial hemp. Our high-quality CBD is extracted from industrial hemp.
  • What's the difference between cannabis and industrial hemp?
Both Cannabis and Industrial Hemp are from the plant family Cannabaceae and the genus Cannabis. Cannabis is typically harvested from a female plant. Hemp farmers harvest both female and male plants, but legally must have less than 0.3% THC in the leaves and flowering heads.
  • Is there a difference betweeb CBD from industrial hemp and CBD from cannabis?
Once CBD is extracted from cannabis or industrial hemp, it is the same molecule. CBD isolate is equally safe and effective, regardless of whether it comes from cannabis or industrial hemp.
  • Why does Sweet Reason use CBD Isolate vs CBD from full spectrum hemp extract?
We use CBD isolate (aka 100% pure CBD) because CBD is one of the most well-researched cannabinoids and we like to stick with what we know. Using pure CBD isolate allows us to create a consistent, high quality product every single time.
  • How is CBD extracted from hemp?
Sweet Reason’s CBD is extracted from organic hemp using CO2.
  • Is Sweet Reason organic?
We extract CBD from certified organic hemp, but Sweet Reason itself is not certified organic.
  • How much CBD should I take?
CBD works in different ways for different people. We recommend consulting your physician if you have specific medical concerns.
  • Can you overdose on Sweet Reason?
CBD is non-toxic, and no overdose has ever been reported. However, please check with your health care practitioner before drinking large quantities.
  • Can kids drink Sweet Reason? What about pregnant women, or women who are nursing?

  • Will CBD affect any of the other medications I'm currently using?
Please check with your pharmacist or health care practitioner regarding medication-CBD interactions.
  • Can athletes consume Sweet Reason?

  • Is CBD legal?
Yes. Sweet Reason’s CBD is from industrial hemp grown by a state-licensed farm in Colorado, and thus is legal under the 2018 Farm Bill, which makes hemp products legal throughout the United States. We recommend checking your state’s laws regarding CBD products prior to purchasing and consuming the product.
  • Can I travel across international borders with Sweet Reason?
It depends on the legal status of hemp CBD in the country that you are visiting. Please do your research before travelling abroad with Sweet Reason.
